The quantifier is a unit of said one person, object or action, and the abundant of quantifiers is one of the features of Chinese. Research for the Chinese quantifiers has great theoretical and practical significance to the study at the history of Chinese. The Ming Dynasty is another important period for the developing of quantifiers after the Wei Dynasty, Jin Dynasty and the Northern and Southern Dynasties, in which the weighing relations gradually became firmly established and the.momentum quantifiers system gradually became perfectly. From the perspective of the study history of Chinese,the study at modern Chinese quantifiers is relatively weak, especially research for some recently discovered texts even in a blank state. Based on “Xing Shi Yan”,the Ming Dynasty novel as the study objects, through the exhaustive study at its corpus, the paper adopts synchronic and diachronic methods to comprehensively describe and analysis the quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan”,and discusses the development situation and characteristics of the quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan”.In addition to the introduction of this article, the paper is consists of four parts.The introduction part mainly introduces the corpus value and the general situation of linguistics research on “Xing Shi Yan”, the name and classification of quantifiers,as well as the purpose and significance of the research on quantifiers.The first chapter has carried on the exhaustive statistics, classification and description on quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan”.This chapter types the quantifiers into two categories as quantification and momentum which are divided into small classes listed all the quantifiers with explanation.The 224 quantification in the book include 147 special name quantifiers,57 borrowed name quantifiers and 20 prospective quantifiers,while the 153 momentum include 19 special momentum terms and 134 borrowed momentum terms.The second chapter carries on multi-dimensional analysis from the perspective of syntax,semantics and pragmatics,based on the basis of the classified description.The third chapter comparatively studies the quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan” and “ Quantifiers from Wei Dynasty, Jin Dynasty to the Southern and Northern Dynasties ”,especially compared to their differences.Thus the development characteristics of syntax and semantics of the quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan” is summed up.The conclusion part points out that quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan” inherited most of those in “ Quantifiers from Wei Dynasty, Jin Dynasty to the Southern and Northern Dynasties ”,and investigates the quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan” from three plane aspects.It is found that the characteristics is generally closed to modern Chinese,both are interlinked. The quantifiers in “Xing Shi Yan” belong to the mandarin corpus of Ming Dynasty,at the same time have certain unique dialect and colloquial features. Which reflects the characteristics of inheritance and development.
