A Report On The Simulation Of The C-E Consecutive Interpretation Of “the Press Conference On The National Plan For New Urbanization(2014-2020)”

This thesis is based on the simulation of the C-E consecutive interpretation of the press conference on the National Plan for New Urbanization(2014-2020). Based on the reflection on this interpretation practice, the author gives a summary of the problems appearing in the interpretation process, and discusses the causes of and solutions to the problems with related translation theories. By doing so, the author hopes to further improve the interpretation ability and hopes that this report will offer reference to other interpreters in the related field as well.This thesis falls into three parts. The first part makes a short description about the background and the language features of the task, and what the interpreter need to do before the interpretation. The second part makes a summary of the problems appearing in the interpretation process and analyzing the causes concerned. The third part makes a detailed discussion on how to do with the problems. For this part, the author gives two solutions, one is for the interpreter to improve her own quality and ability in expanding knowledge; the other is to raise the quality of the interpretation. Here the author illustrates some specific skills such as addition, free translation and conversion of voice and so on with certain theories to solve the problems in the interpretation process.
