The Investigation And Research Of Preservation And Protection Of Paper Cultural Relics Of Zhengzhou Museum

Paper cultural relics, as an important carrier of human civilization and a museum’s important collections category, has the characteristics of fragility and vulnerability. Zhengzhou Museum,which is a local comprehensive museum and a National First-class Museum, had many kinds of paper cultural relics, and practical experience with paper cultural relics protection. Its paper preservation and protection method has certain universality, typical and representative.In this paper, it is carried out in-depth research to the preservation and conservation status of paper cultural relics collected in Zhengzhou Museum, and comprehensive analysis of its damaged causes and potential threats. On the basis of previous studies, according to the characteristics of the Museum, it is tried to find out more specific protection measures, and make recommendations for specific solutions,so that more paper cultural relics can get more effective preservation, conservation and inheritance.By adopting the combination method of sampling investigation and literature research, and the integrated use of the combination method of contrast, analysis,statistics and logical reasoning, it is guaranteed the authenticity, reliability and the uniqueness of information, and the scientific and feasible related conclusion.According to the survey, there are wrinkles, discoloration, stains, animal damage,adhesions, incomplete writing disease, etc. on these paper relics in varying degrees.The damaged reasons mainly include internal reasons,external causes and human reason. Internal factor is the fundamental cause of the damage of cultural relics;environment factor is the external conditions of the damage of paper relics; human factors affect and restrict the preservation and conservation of paper relics to a large extent.In order to strengthen these paper cultural relics’ preservation and protection,Zhengzhou Museum has taken variety measures, including specifically camphor cabinet for anti-insect, in which it is placed solid moisture agent, camphor ball and Sichuan pepper, using special vacuum plastic bags device, and so on. It is also established a heritage protection Center, mainly taking the protection task of paper cultural relics, including painting framed room, and laboratory. The museum has done large fruitful of work in the basic protection and rescue protection of paper relicscollection.According to the actual situation of Zhengzhou museum, with relevant experience at home and abroad for reference, it puts forward a set of innovative comprehensive methods and strategies of preservation and protection of paper cultural relics in this paper. On the one hand,there are some concrete methods and techniques.That is to protect the body of the paper cultural relics, and to monitor and control the cultural relics’ conservation environment, making full use of traditional methods and modern scientific and technological achievements. On the other hand, there is corresponding protection idea and development strategy. That is the combining method of preventive protection and rescue protection with priority to the former,the method of technology protection and scientific management, the combining method of traditional protection and technology protection paying,the combining method of ontology protection and regeneration protection, the method of strengthening regional paper relics protection center, and so on. The most important thing is to develop and implement the strategy of comprehensive protection, and to take practical ways suited to the museum, so that it can better promote the preservation and protection of paper cultural relics.The investigation and research about preservation and protection of paper cultural relics collected in Zhengzhou Museum, is not only beneficial to improvement and perfection of the methods of the Museum’s paper relics, to the promotion of relevant research work, but also have some reference value and significance for numerous museums’ paper relics protection work, especially for many small and medium-sized museum.
