A Report On The Translation Of Challenges To The Earth System

This translation report is based on the translation of Challenges to the Earth System which is chosen from NAP(http://www.nap.edu/) in the category of Behavioral and Social Sciences. It is a summary of workshop mainly about the population and environment and the challenges faced by the earth system by 2050 due to demographic problems.The report falls into four parts. The first part is the translation project of the translated material, which tells the source text of the translation material and its significance; the second part focuses on the translation process; the third part is a study of this translation practice, following the guidance of lexical analysis, syntactic analysis; the fourth part is a concluded summary drawn from the translation practice. By elaborately choosing and analyzing 20 examples, this paper endeavors to display certain translation techniques in translation practices, such as addition, splitting, combination, the conversion of passive voice to active voice and so on.
