| Tang Ji Ritual is popular in Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County as a civilian sacrificial ceremony. During Ming and Qing Dynasty, it was introduced to Wufeng county by the influence of migration. Because of the similarity of rituals, such as ancestors worship and embrace gods, Tang Ji Ritual became popular in Wufeng County. This kind of ritual contains a profound traditional culture and is influenced by the patriarchal system and the Confucian ideas in Chinese feudal society, and it aims to give guidance to the later generations at the aspects of how to respect the old and cherish the young and how to learn knowledge. With the transition of society, Wufeng Tang Ji Ritual is on the verge of disappearance. Therefore, the rescue records and study on Wufeng Tang Ji is a meaningful topic.This thesis will focus on the Tang Ji Ritual in Fu Jiayan country and Cai Hua country.The writer will adapt the ethnology research methods, such as the interviews with local villagers and reference of local documents. And then, the thesis will sum up and describe the structure, process, cultural origins and functions of Wufeng Tang Ji Ritual. Taking the informing ritual in Mr. Lip Xiaohui and Mrs. Hi Fangyan’s wedding as an example, the thesis, on one hand, obviously describe the detail of Wufeng Tang Ji Ritual, on the other hand, through the hereditary music and text in the ritual, this thesis has offered some suggestions at the aspects of how Wufeng Tang Ji Ritual adapt to modern society.The paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction papers,research topics introduced in this paper, and to introduce the relevant literature review and field points.
