With the rapid development of Chinese society and economy, the influence brought by the globalization effects the sexual attitude of modern college students who become more and more open toward sexuality. While the sexual health has not been paid much attention because of the suppress from traditional culture.What even worse is that the lack of the education on sexuality in China leads to more college students to adopt unhealthy sexual behavior which results in serious consequence like being pregnant without marriage, abortion and premature delivery. These bad consequence brings about the spoilage on the physical and mental health of college students.In the consideration that family as a micro-environmental system for individual development plays an important role and shame, as an emotional experience for negative reflect and evaluation on oneself, both influence a lot on the sexual health of college students. On the basis of the former relative research, this study is to explore the influencing mechanism of parental rearing styles on the shame experience and sexual health of college students. At the same time, it aims to understand what kind of role of the shame, as a very important emotional experience, that plays in the the sexual behavior and sexual health of college students. In this way, the researcher hopes to provide scientific evidences for the sexual health education of college students.In this study, s-EMBU-cã€shame scale of college students and the sexual Health Questionnaire are applied to investigate the correlation among parental rearing styles, college students’ shame and psycho-sexual health. 800 college students of different majors from 3 universities in Chengdu are randomly chosen as subjects to complete the questionnaires. Applying SPSS, the dates and results are analyzed.At the same time, the interview method is also applied to combine the quantitative research with the qualitative research. The conclusions of the study are as follows: There is no gender differences in college students’ shame, but it exists in sexual health(t=1.08 p<0.01).(2) Parental rearing style like father’s rejection, mother’ rejection and over protection are positively related to students’ shame level(r=0.52;r=0.42;r=0.41;p<0.01); father’s warmth is negatively related to students’ shame level(r=-0.41;p<0.05).(3)Parental rearing style like father’s rejection and over protection, mother’ rejection and over protection are positively related to students’ sexual health level.((r=0.35;0.25;r=0.39;r=0.32;p<0.01).(4)College students’ shame mediates partially the relationship between parents’ rearing style(father’s rejection,mother’s rejection and over-protection rearing styles) and their sexual health. |
