| Father-daughter relationship in this article refers to the interaction and interrelationship between father and daughter. It bases on consanguinity and living together, so foster father,stepfather and the father who is related but do not living with his daughter are excluded.Many studies have shown that father-daughter relationship has a big influence on daughter’s academic adaptation, peer relation, love, marriage, physical health and mental health. The purpose of this study is to compile the Father-daughter Relationship Questionnaire of the college student in our country, and provide a tool for the father-daughter relationship measuring with high scientificity and high pertinence. The study surveyed the present situation of the college girls’ father-daughter relationship and analyzed the relationship between father-daughter relationship and daughter’s view on love and marriage.On the basis of literature reviews, the study concluded the ingredient of father-daughter relationship. Based on the ingredient and result of the interviews and open-ended questionnaire survey, the study constructed the theoretical structure of the father-daughter relationship. According to the theoretical structure, the study compiled the initial questionnaires. By item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, there’s the final formal questionnaire. And the results of the correlation analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are both up to scratch. Then the study surveyed the current situation of college girls’ father-daughter relationship and analyzed the differences in demographic variables, as well as the correlation between the relationship and daughter’s view on marriage and love, following the conclusions:(1) The Father-daughter Relationship Questionnaire showed complex structure of 5dimensions: the attachment between father and daughter, the intimacy between father and daughter, the relationship between parents, father’s and daughter’s attitudes to each other, and father’s rational guidance to daughter.(2) Both reliability and validity of the Father-daughter Relationship Questionnaire achieved the requirement of psychometrics and the questionnaire can be used to measure college girls’ father-daughter relationship.(3) The result showed that there were significant differences in attachment, attitudes, andrational guidance if college girls in different grades. There are significant differences in intimacy and attitudes between the girls who live in the city and the girls who live in the rural.And there are also significant differences in intimacy if the girl is the only child in her family or not. Fathers at different levels of education, the intimacy and rational guidance will be significantly different in the relationship between father and daughter.(4) It is shown that there is remarkable correlation between father-daughter relationship and college girls’ view on love and marriage, and father-daughter relationship can forecast college girl’s view on love and marriage. |
