This report is on the simulated consecutive interpreting by the writer of the Remarks by Xi Jiping at the Sixth BRICS Summit. This practice is assigned by the supervisor for Chinese-English simulated interpreting training.First, this report introduces the task in general, including the sources, content and results of this simulated Interpreting; Second, it describes the whole process, involving preparation, the interpreting itself, and evaluation; Third, it picks up problems occurring in the interpreting and presents the strategies used, such as simplification and syntactic linearity. Finally is the recollection and conclusion, and the inspirations coming from this practice.
