Bela Bartok is a famous musician in the 20 century, he is also a great pianist, a educator, and a neo-nationalism composer. Piano pieces have occupied an very important position of his whole life career,.The Sonata for Piano Solo which he wrote in 1926 is the only one piano sonata in his piano works.lt shows a wide range of artistic expression of folk music.This sonata has the characterize of Hungarian folk music. In this dissertation, the characterize will be discussed systematically. The folk music theme tune, the folk music features and the percussive rhythm will be all analyzed in the dissertation. The characterize of folk music in Bartok’s work, especially the percussive rhythm, has an important requirement for key-touching and pedaling.I hope this dissertation can provide a new perspective for future reference researchers, performers, or the people who are interested in Bartok’s works.
