The Study On Fu Lei’s Idealism

Fu Lei(1908-1966), an well-known literary translator, literary critic and art connoisseur of China. He is well versed in both Chinese and Western knowledge, Besides literature, he is excellent in painting and music theory, showing superb ability to appreciate them. Fu Lei left behind by the voluminous books of all types of work not only shows that his thinking of the broad and lofty character, and show that his incisive opinions. No matter in terms of creation of literary and art or the spirit of personality, his is a role model. The personal temperature is relatively obvious during his life, as well as the idealism.Based on Fu lei’s idealism as the starting point, this paper firstly points out the formation of it; secondly, the main content of his idealism, and the reflection in his social personality ideal, ideal of literature and art, political ideal; what’s more, the encounter of his idealism in reality, the inner conflict of Fu lei; Finally, the values of Fu lei’s idealism. The paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is about the formation of Fu lei’s idealism. Fu lei is deeply impacted by Chinese traditional culture, and by the reason of studied abroad in France, traveled around Europe, he is also influenced by the rational spirit of democracy. He is one of the intellectual generations grew up under the culture of "May 4th" new movement, the spirit of independent,democracy and freedom is the core of his thought. These are the factors on the formation of Fu lei’s idealism.The second chapter is the main content of Fu lei’s idealism. Fu lei’s life and his artistic ideal are rolled into one, he claims that human and sincerity to be first, which is also the main body of his creation about literary and art. Fu lei’s pursuit of literary criticism can be explained as beauty, goodness and truth, he insists that we should uphold a heart of serious, responsible, and raise the idea of "common human nature"; as the Social personality ideal, Fu lei praises highly of pure heart and heroic personality ideal; as the Political ideal, Fu lei’s patriotic thought is the best performance, most of his political activity is developed as a literary and art worker. the performance of Fu lei’s idealism is calm and persistent effort, he hopes that the political and social status can be changed from the details and drips.The third chapter is the reality situation of Fu lei’s idealism. His education thoughts about Fu cong, "the letter", the growth of Fu cong all are the conception sides of his success in idealism. However, his idealism also encountered difficulties in reality, the reason about the difficulties on the implementation of his idealism, on the one hand, is his aloof character, on the other hand, is the distress of a particular historical period, without independent liberal democracy, Fu lei has nothing. Eventually, by the deeply influence of both Confucian "wto" and the factor of "born" Taoism, he chose suicide.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the values of Fu lei’s idealism. Fu lei died, but based on his idealism, his pursuit of truth, his lofty aesthetic ideal and spirit of the noble personality, can’t be destroyed ever.
