"The Yongjia four- ling" is an influential literary school during the late Southern Song Dynasty. Because native place of the four people is Yongjia(also called Wenzhou) in Zhejiang province, and all their names have a word- "ling", and also because the life experience and style of poetry in general of them tend to be consistent, they are called the “The yongjia four- ling”.The life time of “The four-ling” was the time that the jiangxi poetry style has been gradually weakened, and jiangxi poetry created poetry by learning allusions,which is exactly what “The four-ling” poet deeply dissatisfied. As a result, they proceed with late tang dynasty, combine the writing style of Late Tang,and imitate poetry of Yao Jia. They broke the monopoly of jiangxi poetry literary pattern, and have an important influence on the poetic creation of The Jianghu Poetic School. However, due to the different life circumstances and different individual characters, each of their personal poetic creation has subtle differences. Therefore, this article selects one of the “The yongjia four- ling” Weng Juan, as the research object and takes a comprehensive study on his poems to summarize the overall style of his poetic creation.This article will discuss the Weng Juan’s poetic creation from the following fours aspects. The first part analyzes Weng Juan’s family, trace his life, and discriminate temperament of Weng Juan. The second part reflects reality and sighs with emotion of affairs, thanks and bids farewell to friends, sings nature and odes traveling, leads a wandering life and expresses his emotion to discuss the choice of themes of Weng Juan’s poetry.The third chapter analyzes the art theoretical proposition and artistic features of Weng Juan from four aspects.His poetry uses natural words and focuses on realism, uses exact words and sentences cut, expresses deep feeling, gathers characters and purses unique, and shows gentle mood and only builds artistic conception. The forth chapter analyzes that Weng Juan was affected by Confucianism and Buddhism The fifth chapter analyzes the status of Weng Juan in “The yongjia four- ling” and their achievements in the history of literature.
