| Genre paintings is the pictorial representation of people’s living customs and traditional festivals. Genre paintings describing the life of ethnic minorities are called ethnic minority theme genre paintings. It is a shining pearl in the history of China’s ethnic arts. Based on previous practical and theoretical studies and personal experiences, this paper discusses ethnic minority theme genre paintings in depth:summarizes the history, analyze the aesthetic characters, studies ancient and modern representative painters and their masterpieces in the hope to propose criticisms and anticipations on contemporary ethnic minority theme genre paintings and study their artistic value to our nation and times. |
