Comparative Study On General Adverb "Daochu(到处)""Chuchu(处处)" And "Suichu(随处)"

In this paper,on the basis of previous studies, by analyzing and summarizing thecollected corpus, under the guidance of the theory of “Three-Dimensional Grammar”,from the perspectives of syntax, semantics and pragmatics, we have made acomparative study on general adverb “daochu（到处）”“chuchu（处处）” and “suichu（随处）” from a synchronic plane. Then we have made a survey on foreign studentsto know if they could skillfully use these words, and identify the reasons for thedifficulties.Semantically, The three words all have the meaning of widespread, share thesame semantic point and the implicit negative semantic function. The difference ofthe three words is that“chuchu（处处）” has a richer meaning and “suichu（随处）”can express the meaning of random, possible and respect illustrations.Syntactically, the three words can all be used as adverbial before predicate andsubject. the three words can all modify non-autonomous verbs. The words “daochu（到处）” and “suichu（随处）” can both modify autonomous verbs without semanticlimits while the word “chuchu （处处）” is semantically restricted in modifyingautonomous verbs and only “chuchu（处处）” can be used as predicate.Pragmatically, the three words all express the meaning of subjectivity and agreat quantity. In any figures of speech, such as duality, or parallelism, the threewords can never be exchanged. In utilization,“daochu （到处）” is used mostfrequently while “suichu（随处）”, rarely used, is restricted in the choice of languagestyle.Through the survey, we have found out that although foreign students cannotwell distinguish the three words, students in grade three do better, mostly becausethey have learned Chinese longer and had a higher SHK lever. The similaritybetween words and the time intervals of learning influence on the mastery of thewords.
