Literature Review And Literature Ideological Trend Of The Early New Period (1978-1984)

In the beginning of the21st century, the research of magazines is very popular,but the specific research of Literature Review, whose status is very important in theliterature field is seldom studied. Based on the the scholars’ appeal for "returning tothe1980s", this article attempts to read the magazine Literature Review from1978to1984, and analysis the relationship among Literature Review、the deepening of therealism, modernism, the updating of theories and methods right at the beginning of thenew period.Through the study, the author found that early in the new period, LiteratureReview maintained the mainstream and authoritative gesture, and sticked to theguiding ideology of the party central committee, adhered to the basic theory ofMarxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong literary thoughts, they also followed, promoted,corrected, and lead the change of literary thoughts in the new period, which showedthe senses of responsibility and professionalism in subject areas.When the party and the country focused on the work of criticizing the Gang ofFour, Literature Review adhered to the direction of workers, peasants and soldiers,and considered the "double hundred" policy and academic democracy as theirinstruction. It criticized the Gang of Four from the aspect of literary theory, literaryworks and historical facts, focusing on four areas：modern literature, contemporaryliterature and classical literature, foreign literature, and rehabilitated a group of writersand articles, clarified some historical facts.With the deepening of the thought-liberation, new novels such as "scar literature","introspection literature","reform literature", etc. guided the literary and art workersto explore the deepening of realism. The participation of "literature review" in the newera in deepening "realism" is mainly manifested in promoting art and politics, theloosening of literature，studying the theory of "real" and "typical", human nature andthe releasing humanitarian, promoting the democratization of literary criticism,supporting the development of young writer, etc.Modernism has an effect on creation, mainly on the promotion of the "misty poetry" and a group of writers’ reform in novel creation, in which the moderntechniques are used. Literature Review in the theory of modernist schools of thoughtcontend, clear tendency to maintain the status of the traditional realism and national,claim on the form, creation technique reference to modernism. Literature Review hasa different assessment for Wang Meng ’s modernism exploration and advocates of"misty poetry".Literary world in the early80s generally called for the updating of knowledgeand diversification of the method, in an open, democratic, dynamic, atmosphere,methodology updating shows a good developing momentum. Literature Review at thistime also had a very positive attitude to update the movement of the methodology,playing its position in the literary criticism on the important status and role, and guidethe trend of criticism conception renovation.
