| This is a translation project on a novel, The Love Wife, which is written by Gish Jen, aChinese-American writer. The novel portrays a racially mixed family story whose theme is racialintegration and one world, one family. In the era of multiracial integration and globalization, it ishoped that the translation version of the novel would enable the reader of Chinese text to haveaccess to its Chinese version, an understanding of the multiracial society, and a thought of themultiracial conflicts. The report analyses many cases of translation and discusses translation phenomena andtranslation problems from three aspects: translation of words, that of sentence, and that of therhetorical device, metaphor with the help of Mary Snell-Hornby’s Integrated Approach. Then thereport summarizes some specific translating strategies which could be used in translating thesimilar literature. |
