Form is the manifestation of object under certain conditions. Sometimes it isreferred to as modality, standing for a structural element showing concerns over theimportant concept of the times when the form is popular. Difference in permutation andcombination of elements or coding scheme leads to distinction in form.Based on this premise and on the current development status of modern showcasedesign as well as its time background, this project gives consideration to the presentshowcase design and refined and analyzed the showcase design form. Guided by theidea of enlivening stillness and acquiring motion from stillness, the project aims tostrengthen the cultural connotation of regional showcase design, maximize the influenceof displayed products, improve the showcase form on the basis of existing framework,and probe into diversified development of showcase design in practices. Based onproject studies, systematic and overall analysis has been made on existing developmentstatus of showcase design both at home and abroad, historical overview anddevelopment status of showcase design in different regions have been elaborated, andcurrent showcase design in China has been summarized. From the prospective ofinternational community and in combination of Chinese cultural background, the projectintends to expose the charm of national development and the essence of national culture.With the progress in commodity production and technology, corporate image andspreading way of product information have been increasingly diversified, which leads tothe difference in categorizing of advertising. As one of an advertising media, showcaseserves as one of the important places for product display. Firstly, the brand’s view onpopular fashion is directly embodied in the display form of showcase. What’s more, thedisplay form of showcase is influential to consumers’ buying inclination of brands. Besides, from the showcase, we can also get an indirect glimpse of the economicdevelopment level of the city, community and corporate. As a result of commodities’complex requirements on environment and higher requirements on appropriatenessbetween display environment and products, it is necessary to go into the expressiontechniques and creative forms of showcase design for different kinds of products, andexpand the research into tools, scene and lighting used for the showcase.
