With the fast development of global economy integration, different culture isintegrating as well. While enjoying the benefits of the integration, people all over the worldlove their own culture more deeply. In2006, Tomb of Emperor Fuxi in Taihao was declaredto be one of the first National Intangible Cultural Heritage in China by Tianshui, Gansu andHuaiyang, Henan. In Huaiyang, there is one kind of work of folk art—Clay Sculpture Dog,which is valued by people because it’s well known as the Tomb Dog. Besides thesignificant positon in sacrificing ancestors of Clay Sculpture Dog, historical, cultural andphilosophical factors could not be ignored. As the heritage of ancient time totemism, ClaySculpture Dog is a record of the development of human art and culture. Clay Sculpture Dogaffects the development of China modern arts because it broadens and continues the folkarts and the origin of human spirit, intuitive creativity and modern sense inside. There areseveral parts in this paper. Firstly, the culture background of Clay Sculpture Dog and thehistory of Tomb of Emperor Fuxi in Taihao, the myth of Nvwa would be stated. Secondly,the investigation in Huaiyang for Clay Sculpture Dog would give out a deeper analysisfrom the angles of modeling, decoration and color. Thridly, from the multi-dimensionalperspective, the paper will focus on contrasting and analysing the aesthetic characteristicsof Huaiyang "Clay Dog", in order to explore any reference to modern paiting art aboutconcept of creation. Through the field investigation method, focus on understanding thecurrent situation of Huaiyang “Clay Sculpture Dog”,then investigate it’s survival situationand search for the development prospects. Finally, the negative future of this arts isindicated and some suggestion of positive ways are given.
