More and more foreigners begin to learn Chinese directly, a large number of"new, fresh teachers" go to the teaching post. Have those teachers already masteredthe general method of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, especially for foreignstudents of elementary Chinese level? And how to organize their lessons effectivelyhas become an important issue in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The paper tries to analyse the” inefficient phenomenon”, which exists among thosenovice teachers in their daily teaching activities. It is from the perspective of teachers’language to summarize the types of inefficient teaching behaviors so as to improvetheir teaching skills and efficiency. The main teaching objects are students of primary Chinese level. There are fourmajor principles to support this based on the theory of Mr Chen Houde. They are asfollows: principles of "effective teaching", namely "subjectivation" principle, theprinciple of "learning","structural principle" and "optimization" principle; The authorused observation and statistics to keep a record of classroom teaching, studying thematerial for further detailed analysis. The major creative points of the study are shown in the following aspects. It avoids discussing the macro-system of “effective teaching” and its influential factors. It starts from the perspective of ineffective teaching in classes, classifies “ineffective teaching” into instructive inefficiency, organizational inefficiency and questioning inefficiency, further divides these three categories into eight types, and analyzes each type with specific examples. What’s more, this study also puts forward some suggestions on improving ineffective teaching.
