Chi Li isone of the outstanding female writer who rose in Chinese literature circles in the late1980s, her works famous for the characteristics of closing to reality, paying close attention to the plain life and humorous, she was known as the wonderful flower of ‘new realism’. Chi Li’s novels not only pay attention to content, but also the language art. This paper from the perspective of linguistics, we thought that the chief distinguishing feature of Chi Li’s novels is affiliative humorous language style; we divided the concrete contents to three aspects:There are many types of humor, the language style of Chi Li’s novels belong to affiliative humorous language style. So-called affiliative humorous language style refers to the author by the means of goodwill, relaxed humorous attitude and the language to build figures’ relationships in the novel and transfer ‘positive energy’ to the reader at the same time, then making readers can feel kind of natural humor.Affiliativehumorous language style of Chi Li’s novels represent on two aspects: affiliative humor ofcharacters and the affiliative humor the writer conveyed to the readers in herworks; in terms of Chi Li’s novel humorous language style, it has the recessive traitof interesting,light and hidden.Language means of affiliative humorous language style. On the aspect of speech,Chi Li used homophonic and Onomatopoeia to construct affiliative humorous language style, the use of homophonic method can perform her affiliative humorous language style; on the aspect of words and phrases, Chi Li by using spoken word, dialect words, idioms and social popular language to show the interesting characteristics of the novel; Especially the using of Han dialect words is good for closing relationship with readers, so it showed the best advantage of using affiliative humor skills; on the aspectof rhetorical means, the proper use of exaggeration, parody, irony, time, metaphor, parallelism and other references, rhetoric meams, which made her novels full of interesting and humorous language features; Chi Li mainly used these rhetoric to show affiliative humorous as follow: shift, irony, parody, exaggeration, reference and metaphor, parallelism were only occasionally used.The pragmatic mechanism of affiliative humorous language style. We analyze the humorous characteristics of Chi Li’s novel language from two aspects: the violationof cooperative principle and the perspective of violating relevance theory. In all, we hope that the analysis of the humorous language characteristics, language means and pragmatic mechanism in this paper can be able to show Chi Li’s novel affiliative humorous language style and provide an individual case for people to study the personalized language style of her.
