This thesis has taken the term of alienation in Zhu Xiang’s life as a main subject of research, and analyzing alienation in the poet’s life has required me to take into consider three main parts, the first was more objective,it highlighted and explained some of the tragic events which the poet Zhu Xiang had faced in his life, and how these events had brought negative effects on his way of thinking and created his unsocial personality which later on has changed into loneliness, and eventually made him feel alienated from the world and long for an ideal world. The second part of the thesis was more subjective, it was about the metaphysical spiritual angst of the poet, it explained the poet’s point of view towards "life" and "death". His view and understanding to life and death was characterized by being metaphysical and uncertain. This would remind the reader of many ancient mystic Sufist poets like "Rumi" and "Ibn Arabi", from Zhu Xiang’s works, we can conclude that he is an alienated poet, an anxious poet, loves beauty, and also tragic poet. The final third part was mostly about some aspects like the poet’s rich imagination, and his will of reviving the ancients, and being immersed in the world of beauty, and also his will to unite with the eternal nature. That all can lead the reader to deduce that the poet used these aspects as a tool to achieve a sense of relief, and a way to escape the misery of life.
