As individuals’ core issue of survival and development, adolescences’ social adaptation conditions have significant effects on their health development. Studies showed that adolescences’ social adaptation conditions were not optimistic in our country, especially middle school students in the physiological and psychological turning point; they are confronted with growing stress and challenge, and unlikely to turn up well-social adaptation. Adolescences’ social adaptation conditions were correlated with perception on stress in some degree, the cross-sectional research method was mostly used for the current domestic researches on adolescent social adaptation, however it can’t reveal whether perception on stress has long-term effects on adolescences’ social adaptation.Method:The research adopted the longitudinal study and cross-lagged regression to found the association between new-students’ social adaptation and perception on stress in the middle school. Methods:we randomly selected700new-students as subjects, adopted the Entrance Pressure Perception Questionnaire for Middle School Students and the Social Adaptation Condition Assessment Questionnaire for Middle School Students, measured twice in6months, and we applied SPSS13.0and AMOS7.0to analyse the datum.Results:(1) New-students’ social adaptation conditions in the middle school developed well, their perceived level of stress significantly decreased;(2) There were significant differences on gender、grade variables from new students’ perception on stress in the middle school, new-students in a junior high school perceived higher stress than new-students in a senior high school, girls perceived more stress than boys;(3) Their social adaptation conditions in Time1were significantly correlated with social adaptation conditions in Time2, Perception on stress in Time1was significantly correlated with perception on stress in Time2, and perception on stress in Time1was significantly negatively correlated with social adaptation conditions in Time2;(4) Cross lagged correlation analysis and structural equation model confirmed the pre-measured perceived stress could significantly predict post-measured social adaptation. Conclusion:Perception on stress was an antecedent dependent variable, having a cross-time predictive function on social adaptation. We can improve new-students’ maladaptive social adaptation in the middle school and promote their healthy growth by adjusting their perceived stress levels.
