Research On Traditional Japanese Screen Painting

In this paper, we use the traditional Japanese screen paintings as example. And from the basic content, composition and color of traditional Japanese screen painting to conduct a comprehensive start. We do an in-depth and systematic research which relying on the traditional Japanese screen painting images and historical literature. Enriched both at home and abroad on the study of Japanese traditional screen painting, rich perfected the traditional screen research system in Japan. It has certain guiding significance for the performance of Chinese style design rule.With the characters and nature in the Japanese traditional screen painting as the research content, based on the principles, use case analysis and induction, through analyzing Chinese and Japanese character’s identity, dress and appearance characteristics, western character’s scene and physical characteristics, getting the basic features of traditional Japanese screen painting characters themed character content. By analyzing the painting classes, painting methods and performance characteristics of the flora and fauna and landscape in natural theme, we get the basic features of traditional Japanese screen painting natural content. And then we get the basic content principle of the traditional Japanese screen painting. Research shows that: the basic content of traditional Japanese screen painting on the characters portrayed by its culture environment and the absorbed foreign culture. The painting way is changing gradually from "the tang-style" painting technique to the way of painting with Japanese style. In the content description of the nature, Japanese traditional screen painting has two distinct development direction including secular and Zen Screens. Secular class screen conforms to the public aesthetic taste, luxury gorgeous. Zen class screen reflects philosophy of artistic conception and simple spiritual culture.In the research of the Japanese traditional painting composition relations and screen color, we analyze the composition of Japanese traditional screen position marker by induction method and mathematical analysis, by using related software such as Photoshop, AutoCAD. We get the spatial processing rule of the traditional Japanese screen painting finally. Through analyzing the ratio between the subject area and the whole area of the screen, we get the painting composition law of different themes. The result shows that:in the composition form, traditional Japanese screen painting composition style is varied. Commonly used pattern styles are diagonal composition, squares composition, symmetrical composition, triangular composition, vertical composition, the composition of sub,’C’-type composition,’O’type composition,"S"-type composition. Among which triangular composition is most popular. In the composition proportion, the ratio between the subject and the background of the traditional Japanese flora and fauna screen painting are approximately (?)2square root ratio and the golden ratio. The scale relationship between subject area and the whole area is a third integer ratio and1/2integer ratio. In Japan’s traditional characters and scene screen paintings, the ratio of the subject and the background relationship is approximately a third integer, the ratio of subject area and the whole area is approximately1/2integer ratio. These all meet the aesthetics; make the overall image sense of rhythm. On the color law of theme image, animal patterns common color is yellow, plant design is commonly used color green, landscapes and characters pattern group is white. On the color law of integral image, animal and plant screen and character scene screen commonly used golden as the background color. Their color is delicate and costly. Landscape type screen commonly used grey system as the background color, and it generally uses3different color in a picture.
