Research On Hu Meiling’s Performing Arts Of Henan Opera

Henan opera has been innovating in the local operas and famous for its singing ways in sonorous, straightforward, dignified and pleasing voice, there have many brilliant actors with perfect singing, dialogue, acting and acrobatic combined from its origination. Since more than100years’ development and improvement of Henan opera, five schools have been derived and represented by five core leaders such as Chang’s (Chang Xiangyu), Cui’s (Cui Lantian), Chen’s (Chen Suzhen), Ma’s (Ma Jinfeng)and Yan’s (Yan Lipin). As the outstanding representative for secondary era of Henan opera performance art, Hu Meiling fully deserves to become the backbone depending on her art practice and stage experiences for over50years, which opens up a new avenue of exploration on tradition and modernity, inheritance and development, evolution and innovation of Henan opera. This paper tries to analyze the achievement and far-reaching impacts on Henan opera performance art made by Hu Meiling, using research method of musical aesthetics to deconstruct her art creation and innovation, further analyzing the bold reforming and innovating contents based on Chang’s operatic tunes, exploring the interact relations between her opera performance art and national vocal music education, and finally seek much wider developing space for Henan opera performance art and national vocal music education. This paper consists of fiver parts.First part is introduction, to introduce the research cause, status and significance of this paper.Second part is Hu Meiling’s performance experience and art achievement, making time sequence as thread, life course oriented as main line, to analyze and sort out her road of art and life of art for over50years.Third part is Hu Meiling’s education practice on Henan opera performance art, proceeding from three aspects such as educating Henan opera talents, building education base, promoting Henan opera into university and so forth, to show the thinking and contribution of Hu Meiling how to develop higher, deeper and more diversified for Henan opera career.Forth part is aesthetic features of Hu Meiling’s Henan opera performance art in The New Legend of White Snake, using aesthetic research method to analyze her aesthetic features in her performance art with the "true feeling" of beauty in her self-created repertoires, as well as the harmony and unity between modern and traditional beauty by dispelling the traditional stylized performance in The New Legend of White Snake.Fifth part is interact research between Hu Meiling’s Henan opera performance art and national vocal music. True sound mixing singing is not only one of features of Chang’s opera tunes, but also the self absorption and refining during performing experiences by Hu Meiling whose singing inherited from the formers but with the new line of herself. Falsetto position with true sound of singing is a kind of scientific vocal method which makes deep benefit for the author, and also a scientific achievement related to Henan opera during teaching research on national vocal music education. To research interacting track between Hu Meiling’s Henan opera performance art and national vocal music from mutual acceptance, learning from each other, communicate with one another, mutual improvement and finally to seek common development, analyzing the interacting relation between the two is a beneficial test for the research on national vocal music and drama performing arts.Conclusion part points out that the survival and development of Chinese traditional culture and arts has taken place great changes, the original intention and motivation of this paper writing lies on how to hint from Hu Meiling’s great efforts on historical load of traditional culture and arts, how to further seek virtuous space suitable for self development of Chinese national vocal music, and conclusively to improve national vocal music with continuous rich and progress.
