In China, the concept of the prophet has a long history, It is referring to knowing before others, or to somebody who has the intellectual or moral ability to go beyond the ordinary and become a model. The culture of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhist are the foundation of the concept’s popular in Ming and Qing novels. There are lots of prophet phenomena in the novels. Jiang Taigong, Zhou Wenwang, Zhu Geliang are famous. They are the defenders of morality, the embodiment of wisdom. And they are not only affect the narration of the novel, but also reflect people’s accepting of aesthetic in Ming and Qing novel. And it is contain a lot of prophecy, prophetic dreams, anomalies, prophecies, etc. These all become a dominant characterization of the predictive ability of prophetThis paper is based on the knowledge of Ming and Qing fiction, folklore and literature art theory. I am trying to have a comprehensive study of prophet. There are three parts in this paper, including’Introduction’,’Text’and’Conclusion’.The first part is the’Introduction". This part is based on the Chinese cultural context. I try to identify the definition of prophet.Then I will generalize the current study of the prophet.Main thesis is divided into four chapters:Chapter I is discussed the typical example, including Zhou Wenwang, Zhu Geliang and Jiu Tian Xuan Nv. This chapter are tried to explore the spiritual quality of them. Chapter Ⅱ is discussed the way of prophetic capability. Chapter III is focused on China’s ideological and cultural backgrounds. I try to explore theoretical source of prophet and its fundamental implication. Then I will to discusse the reason of prophet’s formation.I believe the economy and society have significant effect. At the same time, I will to discuss the reason of reader’s reception. Chapter IV, I will analyse the aesthetic of prophet. This chapter is divided into five parts. The first part discusses unique language function of the prophets. The second part, I will talk about the narrative functions of the prophet it plays an important role in the literary structure. The third part I will discuss schematized aspects and represented entities. The fourth part I will analyse the prophets which is the key to mould personage’s image. I think it not only embodies the writing trend, but also reflects the national aesthetic psychology. Finally, it’s necessary to consider the weak point of the prophet.’Conclusion’part is concluded the whole article.
