Agrestic complex of Chinese writers is the inheritance of history which is from theancient pastoral poetry and suffering moans of Du Fu’s poetry to the toiling masses to therise of the vernacular novels led by Lu Xun in the May fourth period booming, from thesocialist revolution novels in the thirties to the rural world of the root-searching literaturein the new period. The native literature hasn’t disconnection in the history of Chineseliterature while is full of vitality through different theme connotation in the differenthistorical period. Viewing the cross section of literature in the new period in our country,Chuan army represented by Zhou Keqin, Xiang army represented by Mo Yingfeng, Shanarmy represented by Jia Pingwa and Chen Zhongshi come alive, and stir reputation.Since the new period, Henan native literature which is regarded as a window to the wholerural China describes the people and story of a pristine and vernacular world has strongrepresentative. Although Henan literature army is powerful, but don’t cause the attentionof the literary field. The Henan native literature verifies the development of Chinesesociety since the new history period. The author’s comprehend about suffering and thecharacters’ means of suffering in the novel is the evidence of seizing the historical kernel.The native literature’s themes are changing among the thought enlightenment,national character criticism, the socialist revolution and homesickness and homecoming.But there are some sentiment or literature intrinsic not changing which is loyal to thedirection of the suffering writing. From national character criticism subject before1990sto the suffering writing and humanistic care, after1990s, the writers who have been bornin Henan rural areas and then live in the other cities with a complicated mind criticallyaccepted a special concept of modern civilization. Zhang Yigong, Qiao Dianyun, ZhangYu, and Yan lianke naturally are representative of henan rural literature writers in the80s.Their creation works can represent the characteristics of the development of henan ruralliterature in the whole1980s. In addition to these writers, the new writing forcescontaining Liu Zhenyun, Zhou Daxin, Li Er and others come into being since1990s.Their literary creation includes both native attachment and the power of finding thereasons of suffering and the courage to be faced with suffering in the local native culture.The literature Yu army rising in the new era in the literary caught the attention of the literary field and academics. Their native novels become the important force in thenew period. Even so, the writers living in the central plains have some shortcomings onthe real breakthrough their own writing.Henan province as the ancient Mohican is located in the central plains which werehit by warfare unceasingly, and which had been the severely afflicted area since moderntimes. The writers who were growing up in such an environment witness the historicaltragedy in the period or are known the experience from their elders. Suffering is a kind ofnormal life which includes the physical level and spiritual suffering. The writers paymore attention to the spirit of struggle behind the suffering. Especially the farmers’tragedy life and their sense of survival which are closely involved with the suffering arethe writers’ real writing goals.This article contains the following several parts: the preface part makes the articleargument and the related basic concepts of native literature and suffering writing clearand provides the specific position. And it makes a brief of the current research status. Thefirst part the article body summaries the development and existing problems of Henanrural literature in the new period. The second part elaborates the root cause of sufferingwriting between inside and outside two parts. To point the inner development of reason inthree aspects from the relation between the native literature and suffering writingcontaining the connection between the suffering and country, the suffering and literature,and the spirit of return hometown. Analysis the external development environment in thecultural background of the central plains region. The third part catches the sufferingwriting contents local characteristics and the narrative style based on the literary text asthe research object. The fourth part illustrates the theme of the suffering writing in threeaspects among the regional culture criticism, political authority power criticism and thenational character criticism. The fifth part is to analyze the value and limitations ofHenan native literature suffering’s writing in two aspects between literary value andsocial significance. It may provide new development ideas and useful reference forachieving the rise of the literary Yu army.
