| In1990, as the TV series "Desire" hit, gradually mature family ethics teleplay formallymounted the stage of TV series. Through more than20years of development, family ethicshas become a main type of TV series in Mainland China. It occupies the big TV screen andpresents a broader family stories to the audience.The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law teleplay is a subgroup which is derived by familyethics teleplay. It narrates around a constant Chinese topic, which is about mother-in-law anddaughter-in-law. From the first mother-in-law and daughter-in-law teleplay which is named"Mother-in-law, Wife, Sister-in-law" showed on TV in1998,and to the “Double SidedAdhesive Tape†became famous in2007,this type of TV series has shown the day-to-dayfamily life and social life scenes on the screen as the background of Chinese traditionalculture. It performs very well in the TV play grand procession, due to it shows the storyvividly. Especially in recent years, such as "The Mother-in-law Came","BeautifulDaughter-in-law","Two happy Familise","The Life of Two City",a series of themother-in-law and daughter-in-law teleplay with the narrative thread of the relation of themother-in-law and daughter-in-law take turns on TV. With the marriage, house, pension andother hot topics blend in continuously, it becomes more close to the ordinary life of people.While it presents more abundant narrative content, it reflects the many of the reality ofcontemporary society and family problems, and causes the audience’s emotional resonance.This paper will study the text of more than ten in-law teleplay which are familiar to theaudience. I will analyze the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law teleplay, from the perspectivesof cultural background, narrative content and so on, base on the feminist criticism. First of all,I study the cultural background of the relation between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law,and comb the development of family ethics teleplay and the mother-in-law anddaughter-in-law teleplay. Secondly, the author will the narrative of it from the image of thecharacters, the narrative structure and the conflict. Again, I dig deeper into the teleplay andfind out the rising of the female consciousness. Finally, I analyze the reasons of the hit andfind out the problems which are existing in the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law teleplay,and also Put forward the solution preliminarily. The purpose of this thesis research aims atproviding the reference opinion for the future development of the teleplay, and promoting thebetter development of this type of teleplay. |
