Since the1970s,the study of Marxism began shift from Western Europe toAnglo-American continent, this shift also occurs in the field of Marx’s moral theory.Based on this background,"Tucker-Wood proposition" led to controversy about whethermoral values existence in Marx’s thought, Wood believed that moral values do not existin Marx’s thought, however, Rodney Peffer thought there was the moral value of Marx’sthought. Thus Rodney Peffer has criticized the view of Allen Wood on Marx’s theory ofnon-moral point and reconstructed Marx’s morality on the basis.The full text are divide into three chapters: The first chapter about whether moralvalue existence in Marx’s theory, there are two main positions,moral theory andnon-moral theory, the main representative of the former is Peffer, the main representativeof the latter is Wood. The second chapter is the main part of the paper,starting withintroduction Wood about Marx’s thinking of non-moral theory,followed by analysis ofthe Peffer’s criticism to Wood from three angles——moral foundation,ideology,whetherMarx was in favor of justice, finally elaborated Peffer Marx’s morality remodeling ideas.The third chapter,combining with some aspects of the criticize from Peffer to Woodabout understanding of morality, elaborated Peffer critical significance and shortcomings,I think Marx morality should reach the unity in the scientific rationality and valuerationality, while Marx’s historical materialism are not understood by two positions, howmaterialism has two opposing positions in their digestion, hence the two factions shouldbe absorbed with each other.
