"Lament life experience and mourn the past" is not unique to those writers of thetwentieth century. Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai were born in learned home and enjoyeda comfortable life in their childhood. During their adolescence, they coincided withthe troubled times when the family decomposed with the declining of the countrywhich laid a deep imprint in their literary works so that most of their texts are full ofrecollections of the past glory and the past years. Their "Aristocratic Mourn" complexhas an extremely similarities and the research of which has historical and practicalsignificance. Historically, the prominent articles were mostly made by those who hadbeen hit by the twists and turns of life. From a practical significance for thedevelopment of literature, for the stick of "noble" and for the inheritance andpropagation of the "noble spirit" is also very valuable. This paper compares thesimilarities and differences of "noble Mourn" consciousness of Pai Hsien-yung andDazai literature with four parts. The first part of the comparison is the Pai Hsien-yungand Dazai "aristocratic" background.Firstly described is that the aristocratic is quite different from the living state ofthe vast majority of people,the decadent and parasitic of which decided the "NobleDeath." However, the "noble" mourning and resurrection is repeatedly seen in PaiHsien-yung and Dazai’s literary creations. The"noble" life experience background hada profound impact on their literary works in the future and since then their differentlife experience also made the fate of their characters in the novels to a differentdestination.The second part of the comparative analysis of Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai’sliterary creation is how to mourn "noble". Their texts mostly describe the frustrateddilapidated aristocracy, the confused intellectuals, the women under the pressure ofthe old moral and the marginal drifted outside the mainstream crowd.In the means of the art, they abandoned the recreational and vulgar of the popularliterature, trying to retain the decline of high art, calling for a small minority, spiritualnobility return. The third part of the paper compared the aesthetic tendencies and aesthetic value of Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai’s texts. Firstly, both of them recorded thedecline of landscaping during which characters drifted or upstreamed, neverthelesscould not escape from the hand of the fate. Secondly, they changed themselves inthe cross-dressing and seeked rebels from the real world. Finally, the inability offighting the fate and the absurd of rebelling of the society had to be ended with death.Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai’s texts are a reflection of a strong sense of death.The fourth part discussed the differences of the religious concept between PaiHsien-yung and Dazai and trying to find the anchor of the similarities and differencesof their articles in the void field. Aristocracy has lost and at this time the aristocracyneeded a strong support, and then the religion became the most helpless sustenance.At some stage of Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai,their lives were affected by religionwhich could be found in the articles.In a nutshell, Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai’s articles were filled with a deep sense ofsadness and diligent pursuance for the elegant atmosphere which were derived fromtheir hearts for the sadness and memory of the "aristocracy." For today’s academicstudy about Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai, there is no comparison of them no more than asingle research study. In this paper, the comparative method of parallel study mainlyused and also from aesthetic and religious aspect, consolidate analyze the "noble"mourn complex of Pai Hsien-yung and Dazai literature.
