The thesis is composed of translation practice and translation report. Translationpractice includes the source text and the target text. And translation report is the analysisand conclusion of translation process, which is written based on ten-thousand words fromthe translation practice.For the part of translation practice,it is based on the first part of New York TimesBestseller—Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think. The book’s name implieswhat the writers want to deliver to readers—human beings can achieve the goal ofabundance, which is proved by a large amount of examples and historical data.For the beginning of this report, the introduction gives a brief overview of thistranslation report, which is mainly about the theoretical supports used in the practice andthe main ideas shown by the writers in the book Abundance.For the body of translation report, it embodies three parts, namely, translation task,translation process and case analysis. The first part includes the task description, theoverview of the source text and the brief introduction of the writers. The second part iscomposed of the pre-translation preparation, the process of translating and thepost-translation proofreading. The third part is about the discussion of the main problemsoccurred in the process, which helps readers to understand the features of the languagesin different cultures by comparing the differences between them.In the end of the report is the conclusion. Translation is not only the transition inwords, but also a kind of deliverance between the different cultures. Therefore, atranslator should possess a wide scope of knowledge and professional qualifies. Thetranslator will develop the abilities from these two aspects for the purpose of wideningthe scope of knowledge and enhancing translator’s qualities, striving to be a qualifiedtranslator in the future.
