Foreign Students-oriented Chinese Textbooks is the main basis for Chinese teachers’ teaching and Chinese learners’learnning activities,and the interpretation of the words in the teaching materials directly influences the effect of vocabulary teaching. So far there have been many scholars studying and discussing the Foreign Students-oriented Chinese Textbooks and the interpretation of the words in them,and they have produced a series of researches which have important value,but the study about the Foreign Students-oriented Chinese Textbooks and the interpretation of the words has many deficiencies.New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course is one teaching material which recently use Chinese to explain words.This paper choose the interpretation of the words in the teaching material as the object to study.This paper introduces the basic situation of the interpretation of the words in this book and focuses on the analysis of the noting language in the New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course.Then this paper do some statistic analysis the datas to validate and compare the theories, afterward reference a certain standard to do some reasonable evaluations about them.At the same time, in order to understand the part of the interpretation of the words in this teaching material, this paper use the methods of questionnaire and interview to conduct an empirical study. After studying, the paper draws the following conclusion:First of all, the noting language in the New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course is quite simple, and the understandable degree of it is high, and the language is wildly scientific,but the language of it is rigid,and the part of the interpretation has no any pictures.Secondly, the set of the example stentances in this teaching material is appropriate,but there are also some problems,for example every new word only haves wo example, it is a little rigid;and the types are not rich.On this basis, the paper puts forward a series of suggestion. First of all, the intelligibility in the noting language should be further strengthened, as far as possible to eliminate the situation that some language can not been understand.Secondly, to improve the accuracy of verbal class’s tagging and the interpretation of the words in the New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course. Once again, the noting language and the example stentances shouldn’t be too rigid, and it is not good that each new word only have two example stentances. Finally, to add pictures and multimedia materials to increase the intelligibility of the verbal notes in the teaching materia should be done.This paper divided into four parts in the main.And the first chapter is the introduction, explains the reasons and methods of this study, and summarizes the theoretical research at home and abroad. The second chapter introduces and describe three parts in the New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course:the verbal notes,verbal explaination and example stentances,such as the selection of words, noting stylistic rules, the interpretation of words and example stentances, and gives evaluations about them in the last of each part. The third chapter analyses and describes the questionnaire after specific practices,and based on the specific data and the interviews’content to evaluate the effect of the New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course on student learning Chinese in practice. The fourth chapter summarizes the situation and the characteristics of the verbal notes in the New Intensive Advanced Chinese Course,and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses.And thus to make a little contribution to enrich the theories and concrete practices about verbal notes Foreign Students-oriented Chinese Textbooks,and give some advises on the writing of it.
