| Yuan poetic drama is a particular art product in Yuan Dynasty which was a drama with avariety of performing forms. It could be said to be an impeccable art pattern. It illuminates usits prosperity and maturity with the beauty of its structure, the depth of its thoughts and thebreadth of it spreads. It is a mirror of reality because it covers many aspects of life and itbecomes the traditional artistic form that people would love to see.This article will explore factors of the prosperity of Yuan poetic drama. I will separatethe explore way from the traditional one which meanly focus on musical substantialism todevelop a new area of exploring method using “culture” perspective. Beginning with narrowsense of “culture” will make the culture present a rich hierarchy. I will review thecomprehensive reviews and theoretical analyses of the predecessors’ studies, and use theheritage and accumulation of human spirit and material embodiment as the basic reference.Also, I will take the human activities as the core center, and pay attention not only to thehuman universal but also the cultural characteristics of different minorities and classes. I willinterpret the texts of Yuan poetic drama to reveal its artistic characteristics and ideologicalconnotations from spiritual level, such as aesthetic taste, values, religious beliefs, personalitypsychology and mode of thinking.We can conclude two points by the research. On the one hand, Yuan poetic drama likes a“living fossil” and it carries each aspects of the Yuan culture. Meanwhile, it reflects each Yuandynasty’s social category. On the other hand, Yuan culture is contained in the idea andemotion of Yuan poetic drama. Through the drama, the culture can be appeared and spread.This shows that no matter culture affects drama or the opposite, it should be treated andunderstood from the view of culture. If so, we can know Yuan poetic drama clearly androundly. In addition, we can also understand the strong culture which is supported back. |
