After the Revolution, a upsurge in the numbers of stragglers and disbandedsoldiers causes the property of Shanxi businessmen suffer a great loss, as well as thelocal companies were ransacked, along with the loans were hard to retrieve, Shanxieconomy was disastrous, and declined from the sub-NEC (national economic center)to the edge of poverty.
