In the1934-1948years, the magnificent and complex imagination of Christianwas throughout the whole of Mu Dan’s peak of writing poems. These poems werearound the faith, think about the war, era, love, youth, humanity and so on. They havea unique germinal background, not just affected by the times and cultures, but alsoassociated with Mu Dan’s individual temperament, aesthetic tendencies. Whenwriting poetry during this subject, Mu Dan’s attitude toward Christianity is not quitedecided, on the one hand, he approbated some of the teachings of Christianity, tried toenter it, and select holistic believe, showed fit gesture to Christianity; on the otherhand, because the heart didn’t get to relieve the pain, and therefore under the controlof reason, he doubt and argued against Christianity. Ultimately, when he was faced ofthe door of faith, he chose carefully turn. It is worth notice that in the process, MuDan’s poetry had obviously been the influence of Christianity, he borrowed Christianculture allusions, learning the writing strategies of "Bible", and build an abundantChristian imagination of the world in his own poetry. He imitated Christian’s repentand pray to resist the pain, calling for God’s salvation when he was suffering.Consider by the phenomenon of Christian imagination in Mu Dan’s poetry, it iseasy to see, in the search for faith in the process, modern Chinese intellectuals hadface unprecedented challenges, they paid a very hard work. As faith arduousconstruction, the development of modernity in China must also face various obstaclesconstraints, this mapping in modern intellectuals, we could see they werecontradictions and wavering. Another perspective, from the own laws of developmentof literature, these Christian theme of poetry appeared heavily and concentrated, is notan isolated phenomenon, it can be said for the previous Poetry offered the potentialexperience for Mu Dan, he both learned a nutrient lyrics in1920s, and inherited thespirit of the realist poetry in1930s, he had push the Modern Poetry to anunprecedented peak eventually. Imagination of Christian in his poetry, had open up anew mental space for Chinese Modern Poetry, so that the face of Modern ChineseLiterature turned richer and more wonderful.
