The Understanding And Thoughts On The Performing Aspect Of Suona Concerto 《Wake Phoenix》

During the20th century1980s, there was a great flourish of New music. Qin Wen Chen composed the Suona concerto 《唤凤》under the commission of China National Orchestra, the premiere of this piece created a tremendous impact and is a well received piece till date. The author premiered the symphonic orchestra rendition of this piece during the opening concert of the2013New Music Festival organized by Shanghai Conservatory of Music in October, with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of renowned conductor Mr Tsung Yeh.The author analyzes the repertoire through her practical understanding of this piece, providing a valuable reference material with regards to contemporary Suona repertoire style.
