Background In1972Sifneos named the performance of alexithymia for alexithymia. The basic meaning of alexithymia is the lack of the ability to use words to express emotions. Only child and non-only child have significant differences in parenting styles. The only child growing up in their specific environment and conditions has some of the characteristics of their own. In order to explore the only child and non-only child in junior high school students’ lyrical disorders, parenting styles and coping styles for alexithymia research, and to understand the difference between only children and non-only children parenting styles and coping style, there are great value to do this research. It can be targeted for educating and facilitating junior high school students’ healthy growth.Objectives The analysis of the current situation of the only child and non-only child in junior high school students’alexithymia is one of the objectives of our study. The investigation of junior high school students’ alexithymia, the family relationships between parenting style and coping styles, and analysis of their impacts on alexithymia generating are our objectives.Methods The research method of the study is a cluster sampling method with class as a unit, randomly selected in each grade3-4classes, for a junior high school in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, conducted a questionnaire survey of450questionnaires, after verification received425valid questionnaires, the effective rate94.4%, of which249boys, mean age (13.63±0.97) years old, female180people, average age (12.22±0.52) years old; only child295people,134of non-only child; aged12to15years old. Using Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS), parenting style rating scale (EMBU), Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ) for testing, analyzing only child and junior high school students status of the alexithymia and its relationship with the family way, the relationship between coping style. The data entry and analysis use SPSS software.Results1.The different gender students in junior high school have differences in outward thinking ability, and the ability to describe emotions. There is no difference in cognizing and distinguishing the ability to understanding emotions and body feeling (t=-0.28, P=0.78; t=-1.47, P=0.14;(=0.64, P=0.52; t=-1.59, P=0.11); and the difference between the fantasy and the ability to recognize the feelings of emotional and physical ability, capabilities described in emotion, and understanding the difference between emotional, physical sensibility, the non-child group scored significantly higher than the one-child group (t=-1.99, P=0.048;t=-3.48, P=0.001); The ability and knowledge of alexithymia scores and differences between emotional and physical feelings, domicile for the urban group subjects scored significantly lower than the average to account group subjects from rural average score (t=-1.98, P=0.05).2.In the correlation analysis of alexithymia and Family Education, the father, the mother emotional warmth and understanding and awareness of the difference between the export-oriented thinking ability and lack of emotional and physical feelings reveal the inner attitude, ability feelings, wishes and desires exist very significant negative correlation; the correlation analysis of non-child alexithymia and Family Education, the parent severe was a significant negative correlation between the punishment and the lack of fantasy.Conclusions1. On alexithymia scores, there is no outstanding difference in terms of age and gender, due mostly in junior high school age (12-14) between the age, so in terms of age, alexithymia is not a large difference exists; in household registration, the chances of suffering from alexithymia junior high school students from the city’s less than students from rural areas.2.For the only child, the more their parents give the child understanding and emotional warmth, the stronger the children could reveal a lack of awareness and attitudes inherent difference between emotional and physical feelings of competence and export-oriented thinking, the ability feelings, wishes and desires of the stronger aspects of which can be seen, whether the child’s mental health, warmth from the family plays a big role; father refused to deny a child the ability to make the distinction between knowledge and feelings of emotional and physical aspects of adverse effects; for non-child, when the parents have severe punishment, the child is not easy to lack of fantasy.
