Investigation Into The Quotations Of Zi Lin In LiShan’s Notes About Wen Xuan

Wen Xuan is the earliest collection of poetry in China, occupying an importantposition in the history of the development of Chinese literature. The study of theselected works has become significant, and the research of LiShan’s notes is animportant component of it.The special quotation style of Lishan saved many rareancient books which had been lost, ZiLin being one of them.The article gives the detailed analysis on Zi Lin that is the No.138in WenXuan,which Lishan had published the HuKejia’s photocopy during Jiaqing years ofThe Qing Dynasty in Chinese Publishing House in1977.The author draws thefollowing onclusion through the contrast between the dictionaries and the Fiveofficials notes which LiShan had seen at that time.1.The article gives the detailed argumentation from the necessity and accuracyto Zi Lin which LiShan had noted. At the same time,there are some wrong in Zi Linwhich LiShan had noted,the author analyzes the cause of the wrong in four aspecsfrom the quotation style, interpretation bias, memory error and the vague intention;2.As the important dictionary in the ShuoWen after and Yu Pian before, Zi Linhad been on doubt the inheritance and development of the Shuo Wen.The thirdchapter of the article gives the detailed analysis on the main cause that Lishan hadquotated the Zi Lin but not Shuo Wen,including the comparative analysis theinterpretation of the same words’, the interpretation of the no words and thepronunciation of the single word in the Shuo Wen that Zi Lin had quotated.3.The article evaluates Zilin that LiShan quotated from the point of " Wen Xuan".The author believes that Zi Lin LiShan quotated has a positive role, influence andvalue from the point of "Literary selections" notes and compilation scattered in Wen Xuan.
