| With a view to keeping up with the new developments of higher education inChina, there is a transformation about college English from general English to academicEnglish. College English academic writing, as an important part of English teaching,has become the focus of the current foreign language teaching research and theevaluation criteria also have been mentioned at the top of the agenda. Genre-basedevaluation criteria of College English academic writing will try to build a series ofaccurate, objective, scientific and comprehensive evaluation criteria conforming to thesocial development.This paper insists on the principle of combining theory with practice, mainlycombing the competence theory, genre theory and writing evaluation theory to themethods of literature research, text analysis, needs analysis by using statisticalmethodologies such as Coh-Metrix3.0and SPSS16.0.The College English academicwriting tasks will be identified by needs analysis home and abroad in order to make surethe evaluation dimensions. At the same time two kinds of mini-corpus will be built (thesample corpus and the descriptor corpus). Through above analysis, there will be formaccurate, objective, scientific and comprehensive evaluation standards of academicwriting.The main research results of this study are as follows: first, it defined the CollegeEnglish academic writing tasks; second, it established a series of evaluation criteriaaccording to the defined writing tasks with an attempt to provide a certain reference forCollege English academic writing teaching and the development path of students’writing ability. This is also the innovative points of this research. |
