Research On Porcelains Of Tombs Of Song And Jin Dynasty In Shandong Province

The ceramic industry production of Shandong Province in Chinese history was not the second to none and researches on kilns and their porcelains of this area were not rich either.But during Song and Jin Dynesty,porcelains made in Shandong kilns especially in Zibo aimed for distinction,which affected by CiZhou Kiln in Hebei Province but created its own style. Since the20th century,archaeological materials of the tombs of Song and Jin Dynasty in Shandong Province are growing and researches on tomb structures,decorations and burial objects are taken seriously.Scope on Shandong Province,this paper takes the porcelain unearthed from the tombs of Song and Jin Dynasty as research objects,discusses the typological features and the period division,and then studies the economy,culture, funeral customs, aesthetic orientation and so on of Song and Jin Dynasty in Shandong Province which reflected by the materials.This paper is divided into six parts.Part one:introduction.Introduce the research objects and purposes,comb research history and current situation,and then propose research thoughts and methods.Part two:profile of the tombs.Introduce the situation of the tombs and unearthed porcelains of Song and Jin Dynasty in Shandong Province. Summarize the geographic locations of the tombs and representative tombs especially the ones with accurate year and also introduce the quantity,glazing colour and shape of the funerary porcelains.Pate three:type of the porcelains. Typological analysis of the whole porcelains on the basis of glazing colour.Part four:period division and the origin of the porcelains.On the basic of typological analysis,combining the kiln sites in the same period,divide the porcelains into four periods:the early Northern Song Dynasty, the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty,the early Jin Dynasty and the late Jin Dynasty. Summarize the characteristics of the porcelains in each period. Analyse the evolution law of the porcelains and social causes.Then analyse the origin according to the glaze fetus,shapes and other characteristics,focusing on the non-local products.Part five:discussion of the problems related to the main content.Discuss the status of the tombs’ master and stratum of the user. Compare the porcelains from the tombs and the hoards to find the distinctions between funerary porcelains and domestic porcelains. Sum up the funeral customs and some special burial phenomenons in Shandong Province.Discuss the effects of the social aesthetic demands on the production and trade of the porcelains within the overall context of economy, technology,traffic and humanity.Pare six:conclusion.Conclude the research content of this paper and summarize the problems and limitations that exist. Inadequacy of archaeological materials and ability of myself make the research slightly shallow.
