The Possibility Of Poetic Habitation

In the20th century Chinese literature ecosystem, writers create amount of prose about the rural areas and their hometown, and all these prose mirrored their thought about life and also reflected the conflict and paradox that China encountered in the process of modernization transformation. Obviously, the identification of the home is equivalent to the identification of the writers themselves, and the rethink of the home is equivalent to the rethink of the writers themselves. Behind the narrations about home and rural areas, we could not only see their emotions, but their deep thinking about the age we live.As a representative poet of the third generation, Yu Jian creates numerous proses which are remarkable at the same time in the creation of poetry. In the previous study of Yu Jian’work, generally Yu Jian was labeled as a pioneer and rebel because of his poem is a resolution about the elite monologue and the grand narrative. However, his prose concentrate on finding old roots and traditions of the culture. From early1980s to now, Yu Jian create a unique and real world of his hometown. With his local perspective, his prose showed the daily life of Yunnan, and the real appearance of hometown as the habitation. He also explored the significance of the earth to human and how the poetic thinking interacted on the divine of nature. At the same time, Yu Jian deeply probed what we would encounter in the process of modernization.In this paper, I set Yu Jian’s hometown prose as an investigation object, on the basis of combing the Chinese vernacular prose in the20th century, I want to analyze the specificity and value of Yu Jian’s hometown prose. Meanwhile, I would like to probe the meaning of "home" to contemporary Chinese people, to see is it possible to guard a home of nature,is it necessary to keep the faith of harmonious habitation, and how to find the significance of existence in the post-modern world.The article is divided into three parts. The first chapter is about the situation of the Chinese vernacular prose in the20th century. Chapter two is a study about the theme of "home" in Yu Jian’s prose, and this chapter contains three section, which is described as "daily reduction"," finding the original home" and "the paradox and difficulties under the background of globalization". Chapter three is an analyze about the narrative strategy of Yu Jian’s prose, and this chapter contains three sections:"the discourse","the rhetoric" and "the cultural identity".In this article, I want to show the spirit connotation and aesthetic value of Yu jian’prose, to make up for the deficiencies about Yu Jian’prose and the traditional feature in his works, and I would like to provides a new angle and vision for the study of the motif of "home" in the prose style.
