Internet addiction is an impulsive and uncontrolled online behavior which is in the absence of thematerial conditions. It has a negative impact to both college students’ learning and lives. Self-disclosurerefers to the process which the individual truly express his feeling and information inside voluntarily wheninteracting with others, existing research shows that, life events are closely related to the internet addiction,according to the viewpoint of the diathesis-stress model, psychological disease is always the result of thecombined effects of individual’s own quality and stress factors. Therefore, in this study, we try toinvestigate the mechanism of Internet Addiction’s formation starting from the Life Events andSelf-disclosure which college students are used for the object of study.In this study, we investigated418college students by questionnaire which are ASLES, CIAS-R andDDI. For data analysis, we used several statistical approach, concluded the following conclusions:1, The internet addiction level of the college students locates below average, has significantdifferences in terms of gender, boys are significantly higher than girls.2, The internet addiction level of the college students has significant differences in terms of major,students majored in engineering are significantly higer than in liberal arts and science.3, The self-disclosure level of the college students locates above average, has significant differences interms of gender, girls are significantly higher than boys.4, The self-disclosure level of the college students has significant differences in terms of grade,students in the fifth year of senior college are significantly higher than sophomore, junior, senior.5, The life events level of the college students has a significant correlation with the internet addiction’s,the life events level has a significant correlation with the self-disclosure’s, the self-disclosure level has asignificant correlation with the internet addiction’s.6, The life events level of the college students has a significant positive predictive effect to the internetaddiction’s, the self-disclosure level has a significant negative predictive effect to the life events’, theself-disclosure level has a significant negative predictive effect to the internet addiction’s.7, The self-disclosure level of the college students has a positive regulatory effect to the life events level and internet addiction level. |
