Emotional Communication

Through the analysis of the different approaches that are often used to conveythe emotion of artwork, narrative of animation and expression of pictures and usingthe changing mood of visual performance of calligraphy as reference, this article aimsto combine case studies to further analyze the similarities and differences betweenanimation and calligraphy. I look for ways to combine visual performance andemotional expression in calligraphic work for creating animation to enrich its creativetechniques, and try to find out the strength and the expressive methods that conveyemotion in animation.Using ‘For the nephew’s eulogy’ with animation narrative characteristics and artstyle as the breakthrough point to analyze the visual characteristics of calligraphy, andcombining it with the outstanding narrative animation work of narrative features andits point of focus and the analysis of the tonal picture, we try to compare thesimilarities and differences between such animation and other standard animation.Methods like case analysis and practice verification are used to check the feasibilityof blending calligraphic elements with animation technique. This combined approachled me to a creative innovative conclusion. This is an exploratory research ofconveying emotion in animation and expression of pictures.
