Judgment of learning refers to learners’predictions of their learning in the future during encoding or after encoding. Researches have demonstrated that, item repetitions strongly influence learners’judgments. Items that repeated in a timed space will gain a better performance in the recall test than items that repeated without delaying, this phenomenon has been called spacing effect. However, learners’ judgments of learning always do not differentiate items repeated in a timed space from items that appearing without time space. Koriat’s cue-utilization framework has proposed that, there are mainly three cues that has influences on judgments of learning:the intrinsic cues, the extrinsic cues and the mnemonic cues, especially, the extrinsic and intrinsic cues can have a direct influence on learners’judgments of learning, and this influence has its function through theoretical and analytic deduction. Therefore, in this research, with the purpose that subjects could make a clear distinction between spaced and massed items while making JOLs, experiment1has used a2×2mixed design, trying to give subjects direct instructions on spacing effect, including what spacing effect is, and how spaced learning can improve learners’study. And finally give subjects a cue-recall test. More than80%information in human is gained from the visual system, moreover, people always take the relative size as cues of perceptuating the stimulus. Perceptual factor is a new topic that attracts more and more researchers in the field of judgments of learning in recent years. One of the most influencing factors of perceptual fluency is the objective properties of the stimulus, such as, the item presentation time, the clarity of item presentation, the font size of item presentation, and so on. Thus, on the basis of experiment1, we administrate a2×2mixed design, and manipulate manners of presentation (the font size of items presentation) in experiment2, to explore the effect of manners of presentation on spacing effect in judgments of learning further. Conclusions are as follows:First, directly guide subjects to pay special attention to the spacing effect has its impact only on subjects’judgments of learning and the absolute accuracy of their judgments of learning, but not on their recall performance;Second, manners of presentation influence spacing effect in judgments of learning through perceptual fluency.
