This report is a summary of the translation of the third and fourth chapters ofThe Social Media Marketing Book.The third chapter of the book mainly describes microblogging and Twitter, andthe fourth chapter introduces the popular social networking like Facebook andLinkedIn. According to the translation of the third and fourth chapters, the authorwrites this report which mainly consists of four sections, namely the task description,translation process, case analysis and practice conclusion. The author gives a briefintroduction of the source, the writer of the book and the book in the first section ofthe report. While introducing the translation process, the author gives an account ofthe preparation, revision of the draft and finalization of the translation. The mostimportant part of the report is case analysis which shows the translation difficulties atthe vocabulary and syntax level. In the last section, the author summarizes thetranslation practice.By translating these two chapters, the author has strengthened her ability andquality of translation to a great extent as well as learned plenty of translation skillsand strategies. Furthermore, this practice will lay a solid foundation for the author toengage in translation in the future.
