The cultural industry is a green and sunrise industry in twenty-first century,under the context of globalization, the cultural industry has the followingcharacteristics:low-input high-yield, high-tech, low energy consumption, the ability tosolve the employment and strong driving effect. Such an emerging industry has beenthe world’s attention, and gradually develops their own cultural industries as animportant way of economic growth, and even become the first pillar of economicgrowth potential, in order to promote social progress and improve the comprehensivecompetitiveness of countries and regions force.Xinjiang, has a vast territory, is China ’s largest provincial-level administrativeregion, located in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent, has a long border with8countries: Russia, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,Afghanistan. Special geographical location also created a large variety of ethnicgroups inhabit in this land, through the ages, there has more than40ethnic groups inthis land, such as Uygur, Han, Kazak, Hui, Kirgiz, Tajik, Uzbek, Mongolian, Russian,Tatar, Manchu, Daur Sibo and so on, It is in this context, cultural characteristics ofeach ethnic groups’, nowadays has evolved into distinctive local culture in Xinjiang.Xinjiang is still lagging behind the overall economic strength, most of theeconomic growth rely on their own resources, making rugged and environmentallydestructive production activities. Cultural industry as an emerging green industries,can greatly alleviate the degree of Xinjiang’s rough economic development, abundantthe ways of economic development, and can subtly change people’s ideas, so that the "resource-saving and environment-friendly" concept deeply rooted society. At the sametime, vigorously develop the cultural industry in Xinjiang, can also helps to promotepropaganda and cultural characteristics of Xinjiang, passing out the Xinjiang’scultural information, so that the world can have a better understanding of Xinjiang,and finally to be able to make Xinjiang’s rich cultural advantages into economicstrength, to achieve leapfrog development in Xinjiang, so as to achieve national unityand social progress.This paper studies the theory of cultural industries at home and abroad to explainthe meaning and development of cultural industries and cultural industries at homeand abroad, in-depth discussion and analysis of the background and current status ofthe development of cultural industries of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as well as the development of the problems and advantages, combined with relevant data inrecent years, through a series of normative analysis, empirical analysis, finallyproposes the policy recommendations of Xinjiang development of cultural industries,including deepening reform of cultural system, improving the cultural consumption,the development of iconic cultural industries, and enhancing cultural innovation,optimizing the environment of cultural industries development.
