Since the 1990 s,the cultural industry as a new industry has developed rapidly in developed countries such as Europe, the United States,Japan, and South Korea. After decades of development, the cultural industry has become one of the pillar industries of developed countries in terms of scale. Moreover, due to the special nature of the cultural industry, foreign governments attach great importance to the development of the country’s cultural industries and support them in terms of policies, taxation, and personnel training. If we say that the military and political influence of a country represents the country’s hard power, then the development of a country’s cultural industry fully reflects the country’s soft power.Every year,Hollywood in the United States advertises the advantages of the United States to the world through films, television shows, and other means of communication, and attracts outstanding young talents from abroad to live in the United States. When it comes to the animation industry in Japan, nobody in the world knows or knows. Not only that,in recent years,Korea’s film and television works and musical works have also set off a hot Korean drama in the world. It can be said that the cultural industry has played a crucial role in helping the country attract talented people and attract investment. With China’s economic development entering the “new normal” stage, finding the next economic growth point has become an urgent task for China. The characteristics of the cultural industry make it an optimal choice.Firstly, the cultural industry is a hightech industry. The development of the cultural industry can complement the scientific and technological innovation.Second, the growth rate of the cultural industry in China in recent years is maintained at more than 10%,far exceeding the total economic growth rate of China. However, the proportion of China’s cultural industry’s total value of production in China’s economic aggregate is still lower than that of culturally powerful countries. With the continuous growth of China’s economy, the potential of cultural industries in China’s future economic development is enormous. This article mainly discusses this subject through the following five parts. The first part: Introduction. This chapter mainly introduces the research background and research significance of this article,as well as the collation and induction of foreign related research literature, and then provides the research foundation for the next part of the theoretical analysis. At the same time,it briefly introduces the research content and methods of this article,as well as the innovations and deficiencies of this article. The second part: This part mainly studies the theoretical basis of the impact of cultural industry development on economic growth. This chapter is the theoretical foundation of the whole topic research.First, after defining the cultural industries studied in this paper, the relationship between the progress of the cultural industry and the current economic development is analyzed from multiple perspectives and aspects. The third part: This part mainly analyzes the current situation of China’s cultural industry development and economic growth. After the previous part of the theoretical discussion, this chapter proceeded from the actual situation of China’s cultural industry development and economic growth status analysis. In this part, through the review of relevant data and literature in China, the author conducted an in-depth study of the historical data for the 12 years from 2004 to 2015.From this the author draws the shortcomings and developments of the explosive progress in the Chinese cultural industry in recent years.China gained experience and conducted in-depth research on China’s economic development under the "new normal."Part Ⅳ: Empirical analysis of the relationship between the progress of the Chinese cultural industry and the current economic development. This chapter first selects the topic to study relevant indicators and establish a model.Next, through the results obtained by the unit root test to obtain stable results, the cointegration test proves that: The development of China’s cultural industry is closely linked with economic growth, balanced each other, and then Using relevant regression models to explore the extent of the influence of the progress of the cultural industry on the current economic development.Part Ⅴ: Policy Recommendations. The last part summarizes and analyzes all the above research results, and then gives corresponding policy recommendations.
