At present, about Japanese portraiture’sresearch, there are few relevant special investigation files in Japan. We can confirm that Japaneseportraiture has an independent status in Japanese painting. The reasons of only existed few relevantfiles and paintings are the difficulty of painting itself, and the development period and historicalbackground of Japanese portraiture. The Japanese painting built upon the foundations of Chinesepainting and western painting, and combined them with the Japanese unique cultural elements.Eventually develop into a new unique painting form.
