John·Brahms--known as "the last monument of Austro-Germanic classicalism."--is one of the most representative German composers in the second half of the19th centuary. He dedicated all his music career to the pursuit of "pure music" style, creating a large number of philosophical and thought-provoking pieces of art with the use of classical music style.Brams’twenty late piano pieces are rare art treasures of the Romantic Era. These twenty piano pieces which are given a rich and deep emotional content by his unique music language, form an introspective style. This article examines the instropective emotion embodied in Brams piano pieces, analyzes its formation, its embodiment in the piano works and discusses the interpretation of his piano pieces. The writer endeavors to reach a further understanding of the expression of ideas and the artistic content in Brams piano pieces, meanwile seeking to be more accurate and have a more profound interpretation while playing Brams late piano pieces.
