The object of this study is ShaoYinHui,the only folk drum-wind musicband of Xiaomajiazi village which locate in kalaqin Mongolian autonomouscounty, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, China. Research based on acomprehensive fieldwork on historical, political, economical and culturalaspects of the band, combined with a large number of relevant literatures,focused on the historical causes of ShaoYinHui in Xiaomajiazi, and theband’s nature, development context, inheritance mode, internal affairs,music form, and its survival status. Study analyzed the relationship oftraditional musical life and specific rituals of the rural population, and thereflection of folk artists’ cognition on traditional culture. This study alsostrive to objectively describe what inevitable conflicts and impactsdrum-wind music would face as an ancient form of music in kazoo--aregion inhabited by both Mongolian and Han people. Meanwhile summarizeand explain them from the perspective of ethnomusicology, sociology,anthropology, folklore and other disciplinary perspectives to obtained initialresults of the research.The discussion of this article established upon the interpenetration ofmacro and micro perspective, mainly use description, narration anddiscourse, with feature of both narration and argumentative. With the formof summary, the first chapter elaborate kalaqinzuoyi MongolianAutonomous County’s natural, historical and cultural background, to showreaders a pair of space-time image from the perspective of the unique blendof different ethnic and religious cultural characteristics, and analyzedelements who have impacts on local cultural ecology, so as to introduce a preliminary discussion on Shao Yin Hui of Xiaomajiazi in the second chapter.The second chapter combined historical records and interview records todescribe the origins of the name of this music band and its developmentalprocess, then analyzed the social nature of the music band from the macroperspective; The third chapter discussed on a more micro level, did categorydescription on music forms on ShaoYinHui in Xiaomajiazi, realisticallyreproduced the whole process of some music rituals; The fourth chapter isthe sublimation of the theory, conducted in-depth theoretical mining andexploration on the object of the study from the perspective ofethnomusicology, analyzed the specific reasons of the decline of the bandfrom social, economic and administrative point of views, and put forwardfeasible advices in favor of its protection and inheritance.
