Introduction To Inheritance And Development Of South Yangtze String And Pipe Music

If music is a real language, then I think south Yangtze string and pipe music is a special dialect of people from the water region.—— Amy XuDelicately, lively, meticulous, gentlest, are all characteristics of south Yangtze string and pipe music. It is one of the most prominent music genres of Chinese culture in Yangtze River delta. As a vigorous instrumental music genre for assembly of traditional music culture,it need to be inherited and developed, and this had been the destiny of contemporary musician.There are four chapters in this dissertation. First two sections are telling the historical origin and current status of “south Yangtze string and pipe music” by the literature research method. Regarding to the songs and inspiration from the writer’s master degree concert, the other two chapters will give the particular explanation.This graduate thesis is about the south Yangtze string and pipe music, and it discusses the way to inherit and develop this music genres, also it explores the way for cymbalo(Yang Qin) to inherit during the development of this music genres.
