| "X hu" is a relatively limited word family in modern Chinese. Words in the family have a high frequency of use and the interior structures are also vague. Their syntactic and semantic properties differ from one another. As far as I know, currently on the lexicalization and grammaticalization of "X hu" in systematic research is in the blank. This paper aimed at discussing the the lexicalization and grammaticalization of "X hu" and the evolution of "hu". The paper is mainly made up of three parts.The first part is an introduction. It includes a brief review about the research of lexicalization and grammaticalization in the past. In addition, we talked about the value and the aim of the study.Part2is the body of the thesis, composed of6Chapters. Chapter1discussed the evolution of "hu "According to the origin and the evolution path, we divided the word family "X hu" into four groups. Chapter2-6respectively discussed the lexicalization and grammaticalization of each group. Words of group "zai hu" are all verb, which all originated from cross-layer structures, so are the Words of group "ji hu". Words of group "duan hu" differ from one another. The formation of "xuan hu" word group suffered from the role of analogy. Chapter6principally analyzed the mechanism and driver of the lexicalization. We also talked about the similarities and individualities of "X hu" and "X yu" in their lexicalization process.The third part is a conclusion. We summarized the whole text and draw a conclusion based on the research prior to this part. |
